I want I want I want...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

I want I want I want... an amazon kindle! They look so cool and it would help me not buy books that use up paper from the poor rain forests...

Also dreaming for a new digital camera, a flatscreen tv, a wii... aaaand I think that's it for now. This will help me keep track of my wishlist for christmas! Oh and how can I forget the shoe wheel!

I also havn't been to the movies in forever, I want to do that. Drag me to Hell is at the top of my list. The proposal, Hangover, Away we go, and Transformers are also in there.
Things I want to do this summer (which feels like its already almost over)
1. Bingo!
2. Bowling (done! lacy's b-day event)
3. Have a picnic
4. Make sangria
5. Go to Dallas Museum of Art on Thursday nights for freeeee
6. Go to the Arboretum
7. Dallas World Aquarium
8. See a movie in the park
Will probably be hard to accomplish all of these because there are four (and a half) weekends in July. The half one I'll be moving. The one before that I'll be on vacation with my family to New Mexico (porque New Mexico familia??) This weekend I'll be at home for the spreading of my grandparent's ashes. That leaves two weekends in the middle, Stephenhead... Let's do some of these things! (We can also save some for my birthday August 8th!)

Little Coop Coop

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Got a puppy this weekend! Little White, Maltsese puppy named Cooper Jones Baker. He is so adorable and cute, though I am feeling a little like a single mother. I am really attached to him already and love that he follows me around like glue, but I'm worried that I did this too soon.

The doubts in my head have been making me contemplate taking him back, but I decided that is not an option. I already love him, so I will just suck it up through the hard puppy stage. I just wish Stephen could be around more to be a father figure to little Coop Coop. Hopefully after school is done this year. On a better note, I'm so glad that Cooper has Aunt Mandi and Aunt Nicole to play with him and keep him happy.

Keeping Resolutions?

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Hmm... so it is almost the end of March, and as I was looking at past posts I saw the one about Stephen and I's New Years Resolutions. Let's see how we're doing...

These were mine, I'll rate them fail or success.

1. Hmm... i know everyone makes this one, but i'm going to really really try to eat better this year, and work out. Starting my first job and sitting at a desk all day really makes you gain weight... I think I'm going to try to buy a Wii to have more fun and to work out as well.

  • Ha, Fail! This one has totally gone out the window. I've tried, I really have but it's not working out as well as I would have wanted. I also have not bought a Wii, as I made a new resolution to save more money. Though, Stephen has left his x-box at my apartment for a little while, so I can always workout my rockstar skills.

2. I'm also going to try to cook more meals at home. I want to try to learn at least 15 good recipes that I can cycle out so I won't get bored. (My Magic Bullet and Crock Pot Christmas presents should help me out!)

  • I would say 1/2 fail, 1/2 success. This has kinda worked... Though I usually end up making Sesame Chicken or totino's pizza's :( Not exactly good for you. I will keep trying!

3. I want to start studying again for either Law School or to get my MBA. Not sure exactly when this will take place, but I at least want to get a head start.

  • On the road to success? I actually decided which one I want to study for, my MBA and I bought a really good book this weekend to start studying for it! I'm going to study all through the summer and take the GMAT in the fall. Then I'll apply in december-ish and hopefully hear back in the spring, and really hopefully be going back to school in fall of 2010.

4. Clean my room more

  • Success! Well, I wasn't very good at this for the past couple months because I've been so busy with going back and forth to New Braunfels, BUT this past weekend I cleaned my room better than ever and so far I've been able to keep it like that!

5. Spend more time with my Family.

  • Sucesss. With my sister Lindsey being sick, I've been going to New Braunfels almost every other weekend which, though it is exhausting, has been nice to spend more time with my family. Also, my brother and dad are coming up this weekend so that my brother can compete in the high school state bowling championships, lol.

Wow, not entirely a loss, I would say I kept 3.5 out of 5! This has been such a hard and difficult year so far, that I'm proud of myself for even keeping that many. I'm going to keep working toward these goals and see how i'm doing in another 3 months. I'm also going to add to my goals...

1. Save more money (Try to analyze what i'm spending my money on, and be better at not!)

2. Try to wake up earlier so I can not feel so rushed in the morning

I'll ask Stephen to rate his and I'll post his responses later :)

Weekend Update

Monday, March 23, 2009

This weekend I decided to stay at the apartment rather than drive to new braunfels again. It's been exhausting going back and forth and so I stayed home to get some much needed rest.

On Friday night, Mandi drug me to a twilight release party at hot topic which did NOT live up to the hype, lol. The people said there would be a party with food and drinks, and games and prizes. The party consisted of about 200-300 people standing in line outside of Hot Topic for about an hour, only to be ushered into the store in groups of like 20 to take pics with an edward cardboard cutout and answer trivia questions. The party inside the store lasted about 15 minutes, and then we had to leave to go stand in another line. Also, the only food was oreos! No drinks! Edward would not be happy! I did really like the cardboard cutout though...

On Saturday night Leighanne came over, and Mandi, Stephen, and I hung out, ate food and watched movies. We watched "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" which I thought was really good until the end... It had a very bad message! Then we watched "Bolt" because Leighanne made us rent it, lol. It ended up being super cute and funny. Loved it!

Sunday I got caught up on some much needed cleaning. I cleaned my entire room, bathroom, and closet. It made me so happy and I am definitely going to try to keep it this way! Hung out with Stephen, and then went to David and Amber's for dinner and a haircut.

This week I have to get my wisdom teeth taken out, eek :( I am NOT looking forward to that, but at least my mouth won't hurt anymore. Also, my dad and brother are coming up for a visit and next weekend is Greg and Claire's wedding!

Holiday Baker

Friday, March 20, 2009

Wow, two posts in one day!

I just forgot that I've been thinking about getting a puppy lately. I really really really want a teacup maltese. They are freakin' adorable!

He just looks like a stuffed animal that you can sleep with in bed :] I think i'm gonna do it soon!

Names for consideration: (Last name will be Baker, my Puppy Daddy)

1. McStepherson Baker
2. Holiday Baker or variations, Holly Day Baker, Holla Da Baker, etc...
3. Munchkin Baker
4. Charlie Baker
5. Stephen Douglas Baker Jr. (lol)

I'm thinking I like Holiday Baker the best right now...

Life goes up and down like the waves in the ocean. I wish I were a seagul.

Ugh, lately I feel like I just cannot get my butt in gear for anything. All that's been on my to do list this week was to mail two things, and yet somehow it's friday and I still have not done it.

Also I've been trying to eat healthier, but it hasn't really been working. I keep making excuses for myself like my life is kind of hectic right now with traveling back and forth to New Braunfels, and finding time for stephen and friends. O well, next week I get my wisdom teeth out and won't be able to eat anything, lol. That'll make up for this week of yummy-ness. Stephen mentioned wanting to train for a marathon, so I said I'd do it with him but we still have yet to run. I need him to teach me because i'm really bad at it, my shins start hurting and I get pains in my side.

Good news about my sister, the doctors said that her tumor has gone from about a grapefruit size, to about a golf ball size! They are really happy with her progress, I just hope it keeps going like this :) Please keep her in your prayers

Wonderful January

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Wowo, I feel like I need a vacation from vacation. I had almost two weeks straight off, but I feel like I need more rest now then ever...lol. I hope this weekend I get time to just sit and do nothing (or maybe shop).

Lots of fun things coming up this month that I'm excited about! Should be a Wonderful January.

David and Amber's Wedding is in like 2 weeks :) Can't wait!

My parents are coming for a visit next weekend, need to clean my closet out a little more.

I'm going to the Dallas Bridal Show with Lacy this month to help her pick out stuff for her upcoming weddding too!

*Also sadness because the brakes on my car have been making this crunchy grindy sound for awhile, and stephen took it to get looked at and it is going to cost me $400 :( I really took for granted when I lived at home and my parents paid for car repairs and stuff, but at least I don't have to turn up the radio to drown out the grinding noises anymore!

Stephen and Ashley's New Year's Resolutions :)

Saturday, January 3, 2009

So it's 2009 and I hope it will be a great year! Stephen and I have come up with a list of things that will help to make this year productive and grrreat :)

Ashley's Resolutions
1. Hmm... i know everyone makes this one, but i'm going to really really try to eat better this year, and work out. Starting my first job and sitting at a desk all day really makes you gain weight... I think I'm going to try to buy a Wii to have more fun and to work out as well.

2. I'm also going to try to cook more meals at home. I want to try to learn at least 15 good recipes that I can cycle out so I won't get bored. (My Magic Bullet and Crock Pot Christmas presents should help me out!)

3. I want to start studying again for either Law School or to get my MBA. Not sure exactly when this will take place, but I at least want to get a head start.

4. Clean my room more

5. Spend more time with my Family.

I think that's all for now. These are pretty hefty goals for me, so if anyone who reads this sees me violating one, tell me not too!

Stephen is making a guest appearance in my blog to post his resolutions. Here is his list...

"

I didn't know that we were doing reasons too. I thought it would be a straight forward list. I see New Year's resolutions as more of a goals list and this just being the time of year that people find the excuse to actually make some goals and try to keep them. It's kind of sad, but hey I do it too.

1. Graduate. Lame that I have to list this.

2. Call my friends, family, and girlfriend more. I'm lazy and they always end up calling me. They think I don't love them but I do.

3. Get rid of this belly. It's not cute anymore.

4. Since I'm still in school it means there's still a little bit of time left to try and win an intramural championship. While I did win a Superbowl with CFL, an intramural championship has always eluded my path.

5. Get a car. It's lame that I have to list this one too.

6. Tell Ashley that I love her more. We've been together for over three years now so its probably getting to the point where I have to work harder to keep her around ;)

"

Happy New Year to all and I hope you write down some resolutions and work on keeping them too!
